As a workaround until we get this fixed, after the failed purge, you can

This is actually a problem with Launchpad itself and its duplicate
finder feature. I've made sure that the duplicate finder is turned on
for blcr - it is.
Additionally, I've written an apport bug pattern for bug 760036 so if
people encounter this bug they'll be redirected to that bug number
I experience the same problem.
My current work-around is to use the static Skype downloaded here :

It seems to always show the icon in the notification applet. Unfortunately, the
GTK theme is not applied using the static compiled version.

hint that the MTA behind fetchmail is misconfigured and attaches the

Fails to compile with GCC 4.6
Should I file a bug for this elsewhere as well then? This appears to
severely hurts video performance (can't play back video smoothly where
as it could perfectly on older ubuntu builds).
This appears to be somewhat independent of the logging, and is probably
an symptom of the underlying problem.
i'm not a shell expert, but with this patch i can flash a linaro-omap
kernel on a vanilla omap4's ubuntu kernel and the other way around.

Having spent the day fiddling, an update on this.
This is not a hardware fault as an install of 10.10 works fine (with
gnome and kde)
I updated to 11.04 and the problem came back in KDE, I'm not able to log
into unity or gnome so I can't test whether it works outside of KDE!
I tried xine and
