I must add that from my driver development for that device, I know it is
a bit quirky in that it makes this ETIMEDOUT (-110) if it is accessed at
two interfaces at the same time. Mabye that is what the new code does.

Do your systems install Maverick fine?
As I said, I was able to install Natty beta 2 and transfer lots of data
(around 70GB) before it cracked. But now I am unable to reinstall Natty,
Maverick or even Windows 7 retail (unfortunately I do not have a
recovery cd). This was on a 5 hour old Thinkpad
I'm just curious:
Do we have the same strict OpenGL hardware limitations for gnome3 (gnome-shell)?
Did anyone of you (especially montun) successfully run gnome-shell on the
affected hardware?
I don't want to start any flame war here, but I think affected users
should know about their options...

I had this happen after enabling the Expo plugin. I'm not sure if it
happened when I enabled it or after I used it, but it's doing just what
you described. The icons on the left still work fine.

It's strange, 'indicator-datetime-preferences' appears in my process
list after reboot and login. Everything works after I kill process
'indicator-datetime-preferences'.
