(around 70GB) before it cracked. But now I am unable to reinstall Natty,

I can confirm similar behavior.
Installed Natty beta2 fresh (yesterday). AMD64. Applied all updates.
Using "recommended" Nvidia driver.
Not only do I experience a plain white screen when I maximize a window
(though the top menu appears to be intact), but I also have this problem
when I make the
verbosity up. kernel 2.6.38-8 kernel. nohwcrypt=1
I booted under this kernel (sorry I don't remember ... is this the stock
kernel?) and the system immediately connected to the nowhere_man
unsecured AP with no WAN. I switched to the regular AP and let it fail,
ask for credentials, typed credentials
I must add that from my driver development for that device, I know it is
a bit quirky in that it makes this ETIMEDOUT (-110) if it is accessed at
two interfaces at the same time. Mabye that is what the new code does.
Anyway its a regression damaging support for this device, that I hope to
soon supp
