The workaround doesn't work any more. I've reactived the show desktop
icon following this guide:

removed the kernel parameter pcie_aspm=off
from /etc/default/grub,
did sudo update-grub,

checked dmesg log that pcie_aspm=off is really
not activated, then pulled off
After some extensive tinkering, I came up with this solution to the rndc.key
permissions issue:
As the root user (or sudo) do the following:
cp /etc/bind/rndc.key /etc/dhcp3/
chown dhcp:dhcp /etc/dhcp3/rndc.key
chmod 640 /etc/dhcp3/rndc.key

blanks and nothing happens. Booting with 2.6.35 (from 10.10) works fine.

I can't give you a screenshot, because you can't get one with the Super
key pressed, but in this case I hold the Super key, and notice that the
shortcuts visible are "s", "a", "f" and "t" only whereas 1,2,3,4 and 5
are not visible - and they do not
I confirm the bug on Acer 1551.

Indeed; killling and restarting bluetoothd and reassociating with my
Apple mouse works, but unfortunately I can now only use it as a pointing
device -- not a clicking device.

It happened because I ran out of disk space on /boot...
perhaps this should be checked BEFORE any upgrade occurs that contains
anything to do with the /boot partition? IE: Natty upgrade killed me :*(

When trying to upgrade to Natty (11.04), pressing the "Upgrade" button
in the release notes dialog silently aborts the upgrade and returns to
the update-manager main window. This is due to restrictive permissions
(0700) on the APT archives
