If I disable the graphics card that has two monitors connected and only
use one graphic card with a single monitor connected to it, unity3d
starts as expected. Here's the output from unity_support_test:

me. I can conveniently switch between internal and external monitors.

* If you erase /etc/fonts/conf.d/90-synthetic.conf , problem goes away.
* 90-synthetic.conf provides bold settings for Xft applications (including
LibO).
* If you comment-out below, problem goes away. But selected hi-light will
be shown at regular, not bold.

I am currently working mainly with four files that contain too much
private data so i cannot give them away and had this problem constantly
even in old openoffice times.
When I tried to reproduce the problem with trivial files containing the words
Test 1 and Test 2
I can confirm the same behaviour running a live usb instance of ubuntu
11.04 amd64. Ubuntu boots flawlessly, but running any process (firefox,
libreoffice, apt-get) causes an Out of memory: Kill process error to
occur and eventually the machine locks up. Unfortunately as my machine
freezes and not

be interested in working on a patch for this?
But we can't use php - does that matter?

I'd like to reopen this bug - properly.
I'm seeing matecity deteriorate and then break after some period of usage.
I've tried reinstalling ubuntu-dektop package and all pulse* packages to
no effect.
The strace is after having done all these re-installs.
