Perhaps you should consider upgrading mysql server in maverick
repositories. I think this is quite a nasty bug. It had been affecting
me and my application for months and took quite a few days to track

Today I noticed that although I removed the membaloon it didn't stick (possibly
due to panic not syncing the file).
I removed once again membaloon and started the guest with little bit better
results.
The system does not freeze immediately, but it leaves a lot of oopses in the

I actually managed to access the 'User home folder' in 64bit 7 ultimate,
using both Ubunutu 10.10 and 11.04 in x32.
The trick is to go there via nautilus/file/connectToServer/windosShare.
Add then the IP of win7 machine to field Server. Add win7user(which is set up
on 7machine) to field User.
I had a similar problem... But mine I solved by reinstalling Windows...
So, this bug might be in Windows network configuration file...
Strangely, I could access the problematic PC with my Windows without
problem... So, this configuration in Windows only affects Linux SAMBA
access to it...

Upgraded to 11.04, where mysql version changed to 5.1.54. Works for now.
Perhaps you should consider upgrading mysql server in maverick
repositories. I think this is quite a nasty bug. It had been affecting
me and my application for months and took quite a few days to track
down.

If you load amsn or quanta on Ubuntu 11.04, it is trivial to reproduce
this bug, on ANY driver/hardware combination. Using either compiz or
unity. Problem does not exist with acceleration disabled (ubuntu
classic, no effects).

The root problem is that a dpkg invocation is failing because it can't
get the lock.

And apt then tries to configure the package that has not been unpacked
in this previous invocation.
Were you using dpkg in parallel to update-manager?
We turned off the proxy system wide and then evolution worked. So the
problem seems to actually be that evolution does not work if there is a
proxy server, which is a huge shortcoming.
