I just unstalled 11.04 Last Night with all of Last Night Updates.
What I saw is that in Startup Manager (SUM) it was seeing 7 Boot Options
while the GRUB is only seeing 6.
SUM is setting the Boot Option to 6 vs 5 which is out of range (I
believe) from what GRUB is seeing so GRUB defaults to it's

Yes, for me this issue was related to using the PAE kernel! I have done
lots of experimenting with this, and my T500 is now happily suspending
and resuming. Can't be 100% sure of course, but by the looks of it,
*everything* works!
To get a working system, I have applied
Correction: "Natty was installed via i386 alt disc in expert mode".
I forgot to mention kernels I tried were 2.6.38.8-generic and
2.6.38.10-generic.
I also just reinstalled natty via amd64 alt disc in expert mode on the
same hardware. The same issue persists there for the same two kernels.

Well, your original post said "directory structure". A directory is an
on-disk entity, and so the sidebar tree has nothing to do with the
directory structure. Probably this is what you found confusing.

I run the test on my system before submitting a patch either here, or on
try server. Tests can succeed on my machine but fail in other
environments. For example, as I told in comment 78, this can be caused
by different font settings.
