Same bug affected me too. It also occurs when I'm trying to change my
profile image in my account. The image changed as I wanted but the
gnome-control-center crashed with the same bug.

On my system, Plymouth shows properly on shutdown, but at boot I get a
blank screen and an error from my monitor saying No Signal, followed
usually by some terminal text mentioning something like mountall:
Plymouth command failed.
