seem to turn off after that time, or as near that I've not noticed it
doing otherwise.
At some unmeasured time after that (but way, way less than an hour)
waking it again requires the password.

Fwiw, I tried to reproduce this issue using apt-clone and the system
state file, but it did not work out, I could not hit this failure
condition.
