In the Oneiric setup, I chose the default 'whole disk' installation
option, then selected /dev/sde as the installation target drive. Later,
during installation, grub-install was invoked with /dev/sda, installing
the stage1 bootloader to the wrong drive.

I had the same problem, occured yesterday after i standby and lasted till 10
minutes ago.
It is gone after i closed my Thinkpad T61 - standby. When i tried to resume
it, there was just a black screen with a cursor blinking left at the top. So i
made a cold poweroff - no problem with the kworker
I'm seeing this problem too. Some images are shown correctly while
others are not displayed. The images that don't show are also not
printed.
The affected documents were created on Mac. Attaching sample file
