This is not a bug but a feature. When a loopback address is one of the
nameserver addresses then no further nameserver addresses are listed in
/etc/resolv.conf.
The reasons for this are as follows. First, it is not normally useful
to list any nameserver addresses after a loopback address. A (cac
found a way to correct the evince behavior:
the environment variable TMPDIR was set to ~/tmp. once i removed the TMPDIR
variable, evince was working.

I've got the same issue on the Toshiba Tecra R840. I looked at the

there was a fix which involved using toshset to turn the backlight on
after adjusting the levels.

I "upgraded" from 10.04 to 11.10 -- really a fresh install, preserving
only the /home and /boot partitions, and reformatting /var and / as
btrfs. So here's my disk setup:
