Same problem for me on a Dell Latitude E6510 with Ubuntu 11.10 with
VMware Workstation 7.1.5 installed. As a temporary solution I have
created a very basic shell script to reset the repeat (equivalent to
going to System Settings - Keyboard - Untick and tick Key presses
repeat when key is held

I have a BT headset connected and it works just fine. But when I go to
the bluetooth icon in the top right, navigate to the device and click on
Sound settings in the submenu, what pops up is the general gnome-
control-center and I still have to click on Sound settings. Before
