what fixed it for me was to change in /etc/postfix/sasl/smtpd.conf:
Replace:
auxprop_plugin: mysql
with:
auxprop_plugin: sql
sql_engine: mysql
and change the %u in sql_select: select password from mail_user where
login = '%u' to %u@%r

alsamixer
in the terminal
there you can mute (press m ) the headphone.
This is not a solution for a long time, but I think you cand handle the problem

I think I had another version of libmotif installed as it said something like
cant write
to this file as its already present
This will happen if you install the openmotif package directly from
http://motif.ics.com/ and then try to install the libmotif or libmotif-
dev package from Ubuntu.

I have 12.04 (Xubuntu) and have cups (1.5.3-0ubuntu4).
Rebooted a few times as well.
My Canon MP500 and 98% of the time it hangs halfway through the last page.
Printer becomes unresponsive and needs to be power cycled.
Looks like this bug is still there.

As far as I understand, the problem has been fixed for overwriting by
rename and overwriting by truncate. Is it an issue at all for just
overwriting part of a file, without truncating it first?
