So far it appears to be working with the 3.9rc7 mainline kernel without
needing the workaround, or at least is taking much longer to trigger the
issue. Howevre that kernel is not slated to go into 13.04 so this bug or

Here's the problem: in Python 3, the targets of except clauses are
deleted from the current namespace after the exception is handled. This
is so the circular references created during the exception handling are

It would appear that 9f677cf27341b7a53915ad0e018912dc022a2a24 is almost
certainly the issue (based on examining the efi commits between 3.8.2
and 3.8.3). To quote its commit message:
efi: be more paranoid about available space when creating variables
commit 68d929862e29a8b52a7f2f2f86a
I followed the logic that I commented. I see it is not something about
the cups-pdf package. Sorry for the entropy

I'm seeing the same thing. I also talked to a buddy who had just
installed 13.04 and the Unity Tweak Tool. He confirmed the bug with me,
at which point I knew it wasn't just me seeing this issue. I then went
to submit the bug but it already existed, so I wanted to comment my
findings.

Ubuntu 12.10, updated several times, getting kernels ...17, ...26, and ...27.
The symlinks in / were examined with "ls -l" and the output indicated that
the link was to the /boot/vmlinuz-generic file, NOT the
/boot/vmlinuz...-generic.efi.signed file.

Images. Per the kernel team's request, the default kernel for the Cloud
Images is based on 3.2. Since the majority of our usage for the Cloud
Images is on AWS, I think we have a compelling reason to at least
heavily consider this
