I've been running Linux kernel 3.18-rc3 for 6 days and just run into the issue.
I think now that the length of time a system has been running without a reboot
can cause the issue as I only suspended for an hour and upon resume the usb
devices on the dock were no longer working until I un-docked
I agree. Silently refusing to start without any error message whatsoever
if start=0 cannot be considered good behavior, was the user installing
pgbouncer for the first time or not.

I figured out that this bug also depends on the selected graphics
driver. I observed it on two different computers, each equiped with
Intel and nvidia graphics. Sadly, I canot reproduce nor remember which

For me, this is by far the most annoying problem I have with KDE because
it happens to me every time I switch from wired network to wireless. So,
I sympathize with Szczepan's frustration, even if that does not
immediately help.

Clearing the session didn't help, I removed the gnome-settings-daemon
package (only gnome-control-panel required it and I removed it too) and
reverted the changes to dconf as mentioned in the debian issue and now
it works OK. I don't know why gnome-settings-daemon was installed and
much less why it
