buildd looks at the first package before the or and if its not found
fetches the second one and since libtiff5 isnt avalable the previous
uploader generalised the change and should have been tracked in debian
too I guess

and the change would have been other way around :-)
So the sync is fine :)

I have the same start-stop sequence lag on a Dell Vostro 1720 with
i8kutils 1.41 on Debian.
By shutting down i8kmon (/etc/init.d/i8kmon stop) and switching to
manual i8kfan commands I can reproduce the lag/freeze for some commands,
and not for others;
cat /proc/i8k does not cause lag/freeze.

After my last comment I updated the system by running apt-get update apt-get
upgrade. After that, the NVIDIA card stopped working, but was still recognized.
So, I wswitched to the nouveau driver and ran purge nvidia* in order to clean
install the latest nvidia driver. After

The underlying reason for this problem is language-pack-nb-base
1:14.04+20140707 which is only available in trusty-proposed, not the
offical repositories. -proposed is used to test newer versions of
packages to make
(so yes, I looked everywhere and =1:14.04+20140707 is just not
available anywhere, even on packages.debian.org, so that's why I'm
registering a bug)
