Do I need to open another bug report at Freedesktop. org on this? I've
posted about the above on the intel-gfx mailing list however I've not
received any kind of a reply. Do I need to revert back to an earlier
kernel to see if this still persists?

Public bug reported:
Hello,
My touchpad works fine except sometimes when I am using gedit, evince or eog.
When using gedit, sometimes (I don't know why it occurs), if I use the touchpad
to move the cursor, it will select the text like I was holding down left click
and moving at the same time,
Marked qtubuntu-sensors as the potential culprit.

ps: when filling the report, I had my wirless mouse connected so don't
confuse "045e:074f Microsoft Corp." with my touchpad! By the way,
everything works fine with my mouse, so the touchpad is the problem
