This seems to be the same bug in my case I am running Ubuntu 15.04. I tried to
install the drivers from the add printer setting, but it installed a driver for
mfc-7220 even though it recognised my model mfc-7340. I removed those driver
because they didn't work, and decided to try to run a script

It could be entirely coincidental but it seems to be happening way more
frequently with 4.3 then with 3.19. I've had it blank 6 times since
I've upgraded kernels less then an hour ago.
