I have sent the patch to Debian long ago,
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=756633
I found Daniel Baumann there who systematically refused to do anything
on this matter answering very funny things.
I have also sent the patch to the klibc list but it was completely
ignored.
This bug is up there in terms of annoying factor, I sure hope this is
being actively looked into.

Same issue here, icon disappeared after upgrade to 16.04. I'm expecting
many more reports to roll in since 16.04 is being rolled out.

I have a numeric password and every time when I log in I accidentally
log in to Guest because I press arrow down and enter on numeric
keyboard.
Why the hell Ubuntu 16.04 is not able to set numlock for login screen
???
And is there a need for obscure ways like numlockx:

Ubuntu system broken after upgrade
Thanks for the information about the progress. This matter has the
potential of generating a lot of unnecessary bad publicity (it already
did so in Germany), so hopefully you guys will be able to fix it
quickly :-)

I'm getting this "unknown command hwmatch" message on each boot after I
installed Ubuntu 16.04 following this steps:
https://gist.github.com/umpirsky/6ee1f870e759815333c8
Special attention to `apt-get install -y grub-efi-amd64` part
For whatever reason ubuntu-bug won't upload the crash report. It'll just
generate a .upload and a .uploaded but then do nothing.
