anymore.

I didnt see that you are using Unity. u-s-d also launches syndaemon with
the "-t" option, which means motion won't be disabled, just clicking
and scrolling. Perhaps the "Synaptics Off" patch would help, atleast on
supported hardware.
I am not sure that Unity7 has been ported to use libinput, I su
New version of firetray (0.6.1) should fix this issue (for now).

mysqld uses approximately 130Mb at startup and goes up to 806 Mb adter

I just want to confirm this issue, exactly the same 5a54a wrote. This is
confirmed on ubuntu-mate 16.04 64bit.
Interesting enough, Kubuntu 16.05 64bit does not have this issue. There is some
problem at times importing profiles in Kubuntu, but trying again a second time
works well.

Hmm, maybe the problem is just QtMir speeding up/amplifying mouse wheel
events a bit too much:

remove it. I could not fix apt with any of the methods listed above, nor could
I remove any of the kde-telepathy packages with purge. The fix for my problem
seemed to be `sudo apt-get purge kde-telepathy*` as opposed to r
