Then chmod 640
Then chown phablet:phablet
Then I restarted the phone, went in notif panel and... Here we are! All apps

The spl-linux Ubuntu package contains two redundant patches that are not
required and removing them will mean that the patch delta between Ubuntu
and Debian packaging will be effectively zero.
Remove:
- 0001-Revert-Remove-etc-hostid-missing-warning.patch" not required
I was working on the assumption that the same commit was causing both
the SLAB and the remaining SLUB issues, however it turns out that
assumption was incorrect.
The commit that causes the SLAB issue is:

Can confirm that it is still in Debian stable as of 2016. Cannot test
Ubuntu now. Installing udhcpc and uninstalling isc-dhcp-client does the
trick. No need to put any package on hold. At least, when you are still
using /etc/network/interfaces. I have not tested network-manager or
anything else.

That crash shouldn't be in any way related to UEFI -- what crashed was
the locale setup utility, which complained about '/etc/default/keyboard'
being unavailable. This has all the hallmarks of a crash we had during
the development cycle and that was fixed prior to the release.

My text also looks quite blurry. But we're talking about an offset of
less than one pixel so it might not be immediately obvious to everyone.

This bug has only been reported for versions older than KDEPIM 4.14 (at
most akonadi-1.3). Can anyone tell if this bug still present?
If noone confirms this bug for a recent version of akonadi (part of KDE
Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
