Title:
The new build of v4.12-rc3 is a good build (2 of 151).
4.12.0-041200rc3-generic #201803151851
v4.12-rc3 - bad (24 of 90 - 26.6%)
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.13-rc3/
v4.12-rc3 - relatively good (2 of 151 - 1.3%)

So
I checked quickly and yeah it seems to be fix-only and thereby not violating
the Feature Freeze.
Bypass-lan was already added being default disabled in Debian - so that should
all be fine.
I'll take a look if the merge is more complex than expected.

This is a rather generic error in nmbd/smbd as this is just the way it aborts.

I looked but found no bug being exactly the same, just many others where the
SIG_ABRT hit.
Is that issue reproducible?
If so how?

You need to describe exactly how you setup your guest and what you do (I
assume hot attach a device).
Please add XMLs and examples how you created the guests.
Only then one can reproduce and try to help debugging.
Since it is a crash you also

The logs really have no info about what happened on upgrade.
But if that is reproducible you should be able to run e.g.
$ sudo apt install --reinstall samba
That should trigger the error again and after that the logs should hold
some info why they failed to start.
TL;DR:
1. $ sudo apt
Adding the package info.

If indeed this is a local configuration problem,
AFAIK build time:
sshkey.h:49:#define SSH_RSA_MINIMUM_MODULUS_SIZE1024
And those short keys are really considered insecure, which is the reason
they went from deprecated to no more accepted.
