I don't know how to reproduce the issue, other than it occasionally happens when I open my laptop. I'm using Wayland for both GDM and the GNOME session, on a laptop with Intel graphics (HD Graphics 5500 on an Intel Core i5-5200U). I will be running GDM and GNOME on X11 for a while from now to see
