2. updated gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons to version

3. Test case: created a file in the desktop and tried drag & drop inside an
open folder.
The issue reported here is that /boot is not encrypted in the supported
configurations. Which is meh - we don't have much authenticated
encryption, so boot can still be manipulated. Sealed TPM measurements
address the problem of verifying the bootloader, kernel, initrd, and the
configuration better

No it is not a grub issue. It's an issue with the installer which does not
provide this option anymore. Wishlist..kind of but I think it is much
closer to a big security issue than to a wishlist. The net result is that
people do install kubuntu without any encryption.

This doesn't look like it'll ever be done. Based on past experience, I
don't think that Canonical takes encryption seriously.
So, I've thrown in the towel. Since buying a new computer, I haven't
used dual-boot. Instead, I installed Ubuntu using its full-disk LUKS
encryption. I run Windows in a VM
I verified the test case using gnome-shell 3.28.4-0ubuntu18.04.7 from
bionic-proposed.

Accepted gnome-shell into bionic-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
shell/3.28.4-0ubuntu18.04.7 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.
Please help us by testing this new package.

Hmm.. This was already fixed in groovy via gnome-shell
3.38.1-1ubuntu1.1. Anyway, it still works with gnome-shell
3.38.2-1ubuntu1~20.10.1.

I tried running that command and I get
ERROR: The python3-launchpadlib package is not installed. This
functionality is not available.
However as I had to uninstall 5.4.0-58 I don't know if this will show
any information, the mouse does not move and if I run lsusb on 5.4.0-58
it shows:
