I don't know much about AMD GPUs but from what I've seen there is
usually only one kernel graphics driver that works for a given GPU.
After you have switched back to a 'stock' config and kernel, what does
vulkaninfo report? Does the "bad performance" persist?

When launching the Extensions app, the icon briefly appears in the dock
and immediately disappears. No log can be found. Launching
"/usr/bin/gnome-extensions-app --gapplication-service" in a terminal
just hangs the process, with `strace` saying that it gets stuck in
`wait4(-

Appears that these kernels are including these drivers. You might have
to figure out how to build your own kernel while enabling the necessary
kernel options yourself after all.
