I noticed that the guest additions features are still functional in the
6.8.0-31-generic version of the Ubuntu kernel, but are no longer
available after upgrading to 6.8.0-47-generic.
If we bisect these two versions we may be able to locate the kernel
version that introduces the regression.

I recently bought a MFC-L2710DW and had the same issue, although I
didn't have the second "brother4" device that worked. Here is how I
fixed it:
The problem was that the scanner was detected by the "airscan"

that's really just one entry point. We can verify malcontent in this SRU
for jammy without it. We'll get that enabled for the next gnome-
control-center SRU.
