Here is the information I was able to get from my laptop.
First off when you log in there is an error that reads Sorry, the program
Jockey-GTK closed unexpectedly.
It goes on to ask if I want to send the error. When I attempted to do that I

Ok, I have done this once I will do it again and get the information to you as

After upgradding to the latest release, Gutsy Gibbon as suggested there
is still an issue with the laptop not coming out of suspend mode when
the lid is lifted. Attached are the logs requested.

After upgrading to Gutsy Gibbon on an emachine s-1940 the power
management does not work correctly. I have it set to never shut down the
monitor but after appropriately ten minutes the screen powers down. As
soon as I move the mouse the screen comes back alive.

After installation everything was working correctly until I shut the lid
on the laptop. I noticed after awhile that the fan was still running
after about an hour. I opened the laptop and set the power managment to
suspend with lid
