otherwise it works much better. This is true in 12.04 and also in 12.10
before I stopped using that version. Will try to install 13.04 soon and
see how it works there.
I think this particular touchpad is common in many laptops
I reinstalled 12.04.1 precise and the tochpad works fine (unsure if it
took the updates or not.) So it looks like this bug can be closed.

OK, I tried those steps, and what I discovered is that the time lag
occurs for programs that would be expected to close slowly, like the
system performance monitor. Those programs close slowly whether Unity is

Just delete the startup files /etc/init/juju--sample-file-
