I tried the aki-84b75ded kernel on an EC2 instance running our AMI and
it locked up within 10 mins.
There's nothing in the EC2 system log to indicate why, and the instance
became completely unresponsive to outside world so I couldn't use an
existing session to look at the system logs.

Can anyone confirm if this is the cause of the high load on EC2?
I've 2 instances which have been "upgraded" to 10.04 LTS and both sit
around 1.0 and peak at 4 or 5. When the same software is run on the same
instance type but under 8.04 LTS the load rarely goes above 0.5.

them to inline text ... grrrhhh.

Video card is an nVidia GeForce4 440 Go, using the 96.43.17 driver.

Following the reformatting of a non-system partition, Ubuntu appeared to be

I confirm that. In my case it always have been disabled both in 9.10 and
10.04. So I had to create /etc/network/interfaces manually. Moreover I
have to put "nameserver" string into /etc/resolv.conf every time
I'm having the same problem. I opened a bug report (526285) before seeing this
one.
The To: filed does not exist in the header and all "sent" emails are dropped
into the Outbox and marked with a red "!"

I'm having a similar problem after loading/updating with new Ubuntu OS.OS
has not recognized sound card and I'm not sure how to get this to work-
extremely frustrating.This has happened twice before with new OSs
installation/updates...but this time and its been many weeks- no resolutio
urned on "checked". All ok
