I still notice stuttering after adding precise to update sources. They
are more concentrated now (one per 2 seconds approximately), but in
between the games flow smoother than before.

In OpenAL Soft 1.13 there are sound glitches when using the EAXREVERB
effect in Doom 3. And when using the underwater preset in quake2xp
(which also uses EAXREVERB) it reminded me the time I tried cat
/dev/random /dev/dsp a long time ago.
In case you want to test:

I forgot to mention, in quake2xp EAXREVERB is disabled under Linux
because of the bug. You'll need to change the #ifdef _WIN32 for #if
1 at client/snd_efx.c line 98 to reproduce it.

I've recently updated from Ubuntu 11.10 (64 bits) to 12.04, but I don't
know if the problem occurred before as I used Gnome 3. After the update
I tried Unity and I notice delays in opengl games (not just framerate
drop, but even when limited at the same FPS it feels to pause
