This bug is also affecting me. I have an Intel GM965 on a Dell Vostro 1400 laptop. As time goes on, desktop performance degrades terribly. I get tearing when scrolling in applications like Firefox and Gedit, window effects like minimize/maximize and fading, etc. are choppy and slow, and even
