Let's say a file is opened in gedit.
So if I click "open" (file), I'd expect the file browser to open in the same
directory as the currently open file.
What happens in practice, however, is that the file browser opens on a pretty
random location.
This is very inconvenient, a
observed on more than one machine, both small and large
(the large was on AWS).

I understand, that my idea would break some design.
What I say is that this design is bogus !
Even on a 20 inch screen one cannot clearly see windows' contents in the
scale mode. Thus one must zoom in each window in turn, until he runs
into the right one. Now imagine their relative order changes

If I switch workspace view with a keyboard shortcut - everything is Ok.
If I switch workspace view with Unity bar shortcut, most of the time, both
gnome-terminals follow to the new workspace.

interactive fields, bookmark folders (in the top) cannot be opened.
May be cured with minimize/maximize play.
After one minimizes/maximizes, the text that was typed (but nothing happened)
