Forgot to mention that i don't use cube rotation, since i find the compiz desktop switcher not good as plain gnome desktop switcher. For instance, i can't move a window from one workspace to another one, even with drag drop over desktop switcher (this might be related to #63208). -- fiesty fawn

I have the same problem, on the same pc, with a long time ago installed Feisty 32bit, a fresh 64bit, and a Gutsy 32 bit. I have nvidia card using nvidia restricted drivers included in repositories. Gnome panels and/or desktop icons are only shown on workspace 1. On the other workspaces (i usually
