actually there is really no reliable method available. that it works for you is
pure luck. depending on the AP manufacturer, another hash is used. So it can
very well be that most of the APs sold in you town come from the same
manufacturer have the same hash. But for others it won't work.

kwallet for the password? it can save it in it's own file, perhaps this
can be used as a workaround.

It's a random event, and only here since hardy, it worked for gutsy and

Since you just looked at the code of mounting etc, there is a trivial bug that
could probably be easely fixed, and would make kubuntu look much more
professional (and would stop annoying my girlfriend ;-))

When watching youtube videos, i have a 1/4 chance that the video does not show
up. I can hear the sound, but where the video should be shown, there is only a
gray square. Reloading the page fixes it in 50% of the cases.

Just wanted to add that my computer crashed again.
I was watching tv with kdetv in fullscreen for 1 hour, then the image froze,
but the sound continued. The keyboard leds where blinking. Had to make a hard
reboot.

i think we can confirm this bug, and probably it has to do something with the
kernel. And as it seems not even with the tv card driver itself, but with v4l,
since different card models (usb, non usb, and different chipssets), different
players (kdetv, mplayer, xawtv..) are involved.

i have a similar or the same bug.
I watch tv on two different computers. Same problem on both.
One tv has a pinnacle pctv, a nvidia graphic card and runs kdetv as a player.
The other has a wintv usb tv card, a intel graphic card and runs xawtv.
But have the same problem, when watching tv, there
i would like to add that this bug has nothing todo with mplayer (since i'm not
using it) and it only arised since i'm using kubuntu 7.10. it was not here when
using 7.04.

current feisty does not have that problem, as reported by multiple
users. but herd 5 has it. wait for the next developer version of feisty
to test again

Binary package hint: kaffeine
Video playback does not work with kaffeine. I tried the xine backend and the
mplayer backend.
With the xine backend, i get wierd colors instead of a video, and with mplayer
backend i get nothing at all. In bot cases i get sound.

When i open a page that contains a flash animation in konqueror (youtube etc)
and i close the tab in which the animation was,konqueror freezes.
I cant guarante that this happens everytime, but for sure most of the time.

the problem wasnt here in edgy. anyway, i don think feisty can go on any
desktop out there with that bug, i mean, imagine a normal user that uses
konqueror, and everytime he closes a homepage with a flash video,
konqueror freezes

i think i have the same. here is the last output of adept i get:

Title says it all.
On my laptop, acer travelmate 8103, when i shut down, sometimes the laptop
reboots. Not very cool when i try to take the laptop somewhere and just when i
want to go, he is rebooting.
This problem is new in feisty. dapper and edgy dont have that problem.
