I cannot replicate this problem on that site using Firefox 6 on Ubuntu
11.04, can you please upgrade (if possible) and see if the problem still
occurs on your hardware?

Seems to solve the problem.
I updated the package. My versions is now 2.0.13.
This version is still buggy, but removing
/usr/lib/seamonkey-2.0.13/components/libspellchecker.so
seems to solve the problem.

.ICEauthority and a few other files in the Home folder were owned by root.
I did not see the problem lately. It can be solved, if it reappears, by
changing the owner of everything in the Home folder to the user:
sudo chown user:user -R ~/*

I don't know if it was a gdm problem. It might have been a kernel problem.
With a new kernel version, the problem was alleviated,
but still a problem remained with Seamonkey browser.
