I think this issue has been affecting me for a few years now but I just
recently started to look into it.
My current system is Ubuntu 19.04 but this issue was present even when I
was using 18.04 and 18.10 and even before that.
OS: Ubuntu 19.04
CPU: Intel Core i7 6700

After updating my system earlier today, I wanted to perform an apt
search and it failed with this error:

Upon inspecting the file I saw this malformed line (2nd line):
For me, under 15.10, with Intel Skylake Core i7 6700 and the Intel
Graphics suite installed, the video plays back completely black. I can't
see anything at all.

Wow. still not fixed and 14.04 is gonna be released soon. This together
with keyboard stopping working in Java apps thanks to bugs in IBus, is
gonna make it a troublesome time for Java devs.

I had the same problem running Kubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Alpha1 32 bit on an
AMD64 PC.
I set the root password, but adept crashed.
In a terminal session, I tried:
