I am affected with 11.10. I just discovered that my Rhythmbox used 1.8 GB of memory. I then killed it and started it again. I notice that skipping to or playing a new song eats up memory. If I skip to a next song, about 25 MB of memory are consumed and not properly released anymore. So if I

I installed and ran Valgrind, and tried to follow your instructions. Rhythmbox does not crash, so I just let it run for a while and then closed the program. I also started a song and stopped it. The log grew to 2.5 GB... I then killed rhythmbox and restarted it, just letting it idle over night.
