Public bug reported:
Just as the screen is fading the login screen pops up and the fading
immediately stops and the screen goes back to full brightness.
Even though the Brightness Lock settings are set to Turn screen
off when inactive for 5 minutes the screen does not turn off after
this.

I have created a second launcher for firefox (for launching an alternate
profile) and pinned it to the unity bar. I also modified the original
slightly so that I can run both profiles at once. The two launchers run
the following commands:
firefox %u -P default -no-remote

launchers after laurching both profiles.

The following behavior is for 8.10 (intrepid), I apologize if it has
already been address in Jaunty:

I'm seeing this bug as well. Is there a fix to make the compose key

Sorry it took me so long to get a chance to test this - I just did an

Seems this is the same bug I was about to file. Every time I reboot my
compose key is forgotten, though layout options still indicates the
settings I have.
To repro:
System-Preferences-Keyboard
Layouts Tab, Layout Options button
Compose key position, check 'Menu is Compose.'
open some window
I should have been more clear: I checked and verified that the bug still
occurs when I switch to openbox and test it. Normally I use Compiz
these days and there is no problem.

Seems to work now, though by default gksu uses gksudo, so you have to
