Hello! This is about Compiz running on an up-to-date Hardy. I verified
this happens with Compiz 0.7.0-0ubuntu1, but I remember it happening in
a some of the last few 0.6.x versions, too.

Yes, it would seem that's at least one of the causes. Could that patch
be included directly in Ubuntu, until it propagates through from
upstream (if it didn't already)? It's just a one-liner.

When changing the passphrase used to encrypt a secret key, Seahorse asks
you for the new passphrase using a password field (i.e., what you type
isn't shown on the screen), and _doesn't_ ask for a confirmation (i.e.,
typing the passphrase twice).
The attached debdiff moves the init.d scripts related to bootlogd in the
obsolete directory of the package, thus making them non-instalable. This
is because bootlogd has not been installed in Ubuntu since longtime ago.
(The obsolete directory already existed, it contains some older files.

I've just linked Xorg to this bug, at least to get some developers to
take a look at the problem. This just happened to me again and I got
annoyed enough to find a different computer and take a look through SSH.
Precise description of the situation: I use Super+[1-5] to assign
ratings to songs in

After RsomeFM, I'm taking a look through ~/gnome2/session
What I found so far:

I noticed that every time I start update-manager it prints the message

I'm not sure it's right to mark this as a duplicate.
_If_ the raiseWindow is buggy in the way I mentioned, then yes, fixing
that bug is a fix for this too. It is possible, though, that raiseWindow
was done
We could just put them all in a multiverse package, user beware,
couldn't we? Or at least a core and extras-may-break-your-machine
pair of packages.

On the one hand, the video drivers (intel, nvidia, ati) all behave the
same way in the situation described above. They actually do what the
software tells them to do, so they're not technically buggy. And
technically so does Compiz:
