Binary package hint: compiz
We need an update to fix this bug,
http://git.compiz.org/compiz/core/commit/?h=compiz-0.8id=24dea72a395071b533dcf66b2eef37b20522cbba
It's causing compiz to crash 5 or 6 times a day on my multi screen
system
Thanks :)
** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
Public bug reported:
In the keyboard preferences dialog, you cannot bind Super/Windows/Mod4
on it's own. You must specify a modifier. This stops users from binding
Super to open the applications menu, or my acer aspire one's home key
from showing the home menu on netbook remix.
** Affects:
I found out more specifically what the problem is, and a workaround.
The nvidia-xconfig utility doesn't specify a BusID in the device section. So
when X starts, it doesn't know which graphics card to use, and this somehow
results in No screens found. The solution, open a terminal and type...

Can some sort of priority be assigned to this bug? The original report
is 6 years old now ( http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115704 ),
and gnome-panels multi x screen support gets worse with every release,
and the developer refuses to fix any of it. It's going to become
unusable at this

It appears that you need to run one instance of a panel for each screen. This
rules out:
gnome-panel
kicker (KDE's panel)

As none of them allow multiple instances.
However fbpanel appears to allow this, i have a notification area on each

I have a quad monitor setup (2 X Sessions, both running twinview.)
When i use the volume control on my keyboard, while on the second X

Yes, this is the weirdest bug report you've ever read, and probably ever
will read. But
_Zeus_ asked me to check my /var/log/Xorg.0.log.
I renamed the file to Xorg.0.log.back, then span my volume knob around
for a while and reproduced the bug. It didn't create a new log file. So
one must assume theres nothing intresting in /var/log/Xorg.0.log :(
