I'm using the 123B bios on my Compal HEL80. I just installed it on
Saturday. Prior to that I had been running the 122B bios since it was
released in July 2007. The 123B says it is an ACPIEC fix, though there
are no other details. It is only available on http://www.bizcom-
us.com/support/, not

The mouse that I am having problems with is a built-in touchpad but it
shows up in /proc/bus/input/devices as ImPS/2 Logitech Wheel Mouse.

Adding acpi_osi=Linux to my grub kernel parameters solved the problem
for me.
I had this problem in Gutsy and (now) Hardy.
