I see the same thing with en_GB. I note that setting the language from gdm adds
en_GB.UTF-8 to my .dmrc, which stops the complaining.
This is presumably therefore something from previous installs that is setting
the language without the encoding, which the login session then complains about.

Gerhard: I think the problem is simply that /apps/gnome-power-
manager/lock/use_screensaver_settings should be on by default, that
fixes the regression.

Switching to EXA made the issue worse. Upon resume nothing is redrawn
properly. Exposed windows will draw a gtk background colour, but no
foreground or text (so mostly the screen was black!)

Personally, I suspend/resume multiple times a day, so either version of the
driver is going to leave me with largely unusable 3D. I guess it would be more
useful to have the old driver and know that I can at least restart the server
if I want to run google earth or whatever.

I switched back to the onboard r8169 last night and set some iso transfer loops

It is not a compiz bug because it affects all 3D textures. Running xscreensaver
hacks with textures shows similar problems.

This is significantly less than it outputted in feisty (since it logged
all wpa_supplicant output to syslog too), but it is rather annoying and
the output is really not very helpful (or am I wrong?), so I would be
inclined to suggest removing these messages.

afaik network-manager does produce the required dbus signal, pidgin just
needs to listen to it.

I am running fully updated gutsy on a Thinkpad X40. When I am on AC power,
g-p-m behaves correctly.
If I am on battery power, g-p-m will trigger a hibernate if the machine is idle
for a few minutes, but this should not happen, as

[gutsy] incorrect sleep type and timeout
Digging around in gconf I see the following:
/apps/gnome-power-manager/actions/sleep_type_battery = hibernate
/apps/gnome-power-manager/timeout/sleep_computer_battery = 300
so g-p-m is behaving correctly in that it is hibernating after 5
minutes, but these keys are not exposed through the UI and
1201 - 1300 of 1546 matches
