No, you can do it from Nautilus or your favorite text editor. Although I
would make sure Pidgin is closed when you do it to ensure your changes
don't get overwritten. I don't think it's needed like it is in Windows,

Someone should check the Firefox 3 that's in the Hardy repo (I don't use
it) and verify that this is indeed fixed, but I think we can change this

Actually the email I saw about Hardy not being LTS was specifically for
the KDE versions. But if Hardy GNOME isn't LTS it makes even less sense
to put a beta in the final release. (Yes, I know they did it with Edgy
and I had problems with it then, too.) I don't mind betas being in the
repos, but
Actually why is a beta browser included in Hardy at all? Firefox 3 won't
be final when Hardy ships and every Firefox release announcement has a
bold notice that it is a testing release and isn't designed for all
users. A user can always make the decision to use the betas of Firefox 3
at any point
I don't have any qualms about it being in the repos. I just wonder why
it's the default browser when it's still in beta. But I guess I probably
should have opened a new bug for that.

hardy, lost sound after installing
I'm also getting the crash on Gutsy, sometimes after running it for a
while, sometimes after simply launching the program. I ran it from the
Terminal and after a couple of manual wallpaper changes it crashed,
outputting the following:
*** glibc detected *** wallpaper-tray: malloc(): memory
I'm also getting it on my Nvidia GeForce 2 MX200 card (64 MB of video
RAM) using the nvidia-glx driver version 1:1.0.9639+2.3.22.4-14.8, and
especially when I am running SecondLife.

I did an online update from Edgy and Feisty doesn't even see my CD

may be due to the fact that I didn't update from a disc.
