Radeon drivers not loaded properly after upgrading to Saucy

Removing and reinstalling the package xserver-xorg-video-ati, now there
are no longer errors in xorg (so it looks like the radeon module is
loaded), but still 3D rendering is software based (llvmpipe), and now
the system is less responsive than before. On the good part I can use
two monitors.

Checking the automatic attachment xserver.errors.txt (what does this
file correspond to?), I see the following error messages:
Failed to load module radeon (module does not exist, 0)
Failed to load module ati (module does not exist, 0)
Failed to load module modesetting (module does not exist, 0)
Public bug reported:
After upgrading to Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy), GDM stops to work (strange
colors appearing on screen), and lightdm works using llvmpipe instead of
radeon drivers. Performance is really bad and dual screen no longer
works. It worked perfectly before upgrading.

In my case freezes disappeared when I removed the gnome ppa

Having the gnome-ppa installed produced freezes not only in gnome-shell,
but also in Unity.

In my case freezes become more infrequent and shorter (but they do not
disappear) when I remove the tracker package, so I believe it is somehow
linked to hard disk access.
I'm using the Radeon driver:
VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV610
[Radeon HD 2400 PRO/XT]
Changing swappiness doesn't work for me either...

Ubuntu 13.10 random screen freeze while Normal OS activites
To manage notifications
In my case, every once in a while the screen freezes and the keyboard
and mouse stop responding. This lasts for about 0.5-5 sec, and then
activity resumes as normal. Makes usage of the computer very
incovenient. Cannot confirm 100%, but it looks like it is linked to
heavy processor usage.
Using
Brian, I didn't have this option selected. I have tested Reminna again
and I still have the same issues.

Title:
12.04 remmina full screen
I have installed the last version of remmina using the following ppa:
https://launchpad.net/~freerdp-team/+archive/freerdp
The result is that remmina closes unexpectedly even more frequently that
with the default version shipped with Ubuntu 12.10.
I have reported upstream:
Does anybody kwow if ther is any workaround available? It's extremely
annoying to work with Remmina in these conditions.
Thanks in advance.

Confirmed as a bug in Ubuntu 12.10 running gnome -shell in a dual
