Help. I can't help myself. I've read many similar issues but without
luck. I did memtest, autoclean, I even enabled only single core just to
be sure it's not some way of concurrency issue.
Right now I've installed 3.13.0-83 kernel as I believe it was the one
I've used without any problems before
I doubt lvm was updated in last 2 weeks.

No prior kernel version boots. Yes, I can mount disks via LiveCD.
I tested the lates kernel from here http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v4.6-yakkety. It don't solve my problem. I attached new

After multiple update-initramfs and kernel reinstalls instead of message
'fstype not found' I have 'can't open /dev/mapper/ubuntu-root no such
file'. However all the rest of the stacktrace seems to be similar as
already attached photo of the stacktrace. I check if I have installed
lvm2 and it is.
I can't run apport-collect. Maybe because I'm chrooted?

I guess there is no need to install 13.04 or 12.04 with kernel from
13.10. The disk tool shows low write speed in all of them for Kingston
DT Ultimate G3 (32GB). But I can do that if you want...

Disks tool shows same poor result for Kingston DT Ultimate G3 (32GB).
Maybe this is not kernel problem?
Maybe some package, application or configuration suppress the disks speed?

However I had problem during installation via
$ sudo dpkg -i *.deb
command. There were errors during processing kernel. After reboot with this
kernel I hadn't internet and icons in the left
$ sudo dpkg -i *.deb
Selecting previously unselected package linux-headers-3.0.0-0300-generic.
(Reading database ... 195696 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking linux-headers-3.0.0-0300-generic (from

On my laptop ASUS X55U with USB 3.0 port with connected Verbatim Store 'n' Go
SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive 500GB (model inside ST500LM0 12
HN-M500MB) during copy files from local HDD to USB disk via command gcp I had:
- about 50 MB/s in Ubuntu 13.04 (USB disk formatted to EXT4)

Similar write speed problem I had with Seagate Expansion Portable Hard
Drive 500GB (model inside ST500LT012-9WS142) on my laptop x55u. I had
lower write speed than Verbatim (Seagate inside). So I set it as record
disk to SMART TV. With Samsung TV record fine.

Problem description:
I noticed very very low write speed to USB disks, especially to the new ones
with USB 3.0. The Disks tool shows write speed about 7 MB/s !!! After start
benchmark this tool shows write speed about 17 MB/s but imidiatelly goes below
10 MB/s. Same low
