I can confirm this; but in my case it happens when, after a time using
the computer with Ubuntu Hardy (2.6.24-17-generic), the soundcard stops
running misteriously, and then all the players refuse to reproduce
everything, stoping video after the first second; I tested gmplayer too.

Yes, I followed the instructions and now it works.
I could install Google Toolbar over version 2 (firefox-2) after a new profile
was added and selected.

I think this bug is about two different bugs; actually it is about i8042
problem, not PS2.
My old computer (from 2001) doesn't detect PS2 keyboard/mouse, having to
use USB ones and I don't have an i8042 chipset; an Sis 630 instead.
I will add my dmesg/lspci etc with the latest Ubuntu beta ASAP.

The problem is still there, in Gutsy Final 7.10 (tested Kubuntu, but is
the same). Please reopen the bug.
Booting from CD (Kubuntu desktop CD) you get a "signal out of range" in every
monitor you test it (tested with a Q995 19" Tube monitor and a M17GKA 17" TFT

mbits) and Kubuntu Dapper LTS 6.06.01. It makes krfb unusable having to retype

After a time I tested other themes for SuperKaramba, and those didn't
had this problem. It must be a problem with superkaramba using some xorg
