Could it be??!! I've just upgraded the clean install of 10.04 that I ran the tests on (above) to 10.10 and the problem seems to have been resolved. The page set-up option is gone from the 'Image' menu of EOG and the Page Setup tab works! Also, checked Gedit and it is OK. Can anyone else

I've just run a clean install of 10.04 to test this again and you are correct, GEdit does allow the page setup tab to be used. However, tried with Eye of Gnome and the problem still exists. When viewing the page-setup tab in GEdit to an HP Laserjet 1200: Layout: - Two-sided:

With regards to this comment: Surely it's now time to get this fixed or just remove the tab so that it can't confuse users any longer? I'm mistaken; it's in the right place so please don't remove it, just allow users to use it! -- Page Size greyed out in gtkprint applications.
