There is a fix. It's not a fun fix, but it works.
Go to OpenOffice.org, download the official Linux stuff (Fedora RPMs),
Alien them, and install the deb verison built by Alien. You may have to
uninstall your previous OO.o first.
This takes about half an hour. It's a pity that there isn't an

The workaround is a pain in the behind, but it does work.
