I would suggest that anyone wishing a full function 14.04 use the
14.04.1 image then update. That will give you 14.04.2 minus the neutered
& unique named mesa build.
The lts-utopic kernel can be installed separately if wishing.
(- log outs can be slow with Intel gpu but fixable with above kernel
Well upgrading mesa breaks things, this is just 1 example on many . The
fact that Ubuntu features 14.04.2 on their web page is a joke & reflects
little respect or resources to the Desktop install. They should be
ashamed...

I'm wondering why you added all those libFLAC.so.8 symbols to the
libflac++6 symbol file, seems quite unneeded.
It appears you used all the common symbols + the 32bit specific ones? Is
that any better than just using the common symbols or some other solution?

Takes about 30 -35 sec. before the drive shows in nautilus & unity launcher

drive should show in a sec. or less

Well yes & no, noting this bug was 1st filed on 13.04
There is currently no way to get a fully transparent panel so the fact that
opacity of the Background color affects how the panel looks is less relevant.
But yes, altering the Background color opacity does alter the appearan

installs some unneeded packages - current ex.

2nd. - while youtube-dl works tod
Though it would be useful I guess if there was some first run routine on
installs or upgrades that causes an overwrite of presets.xml

While I wouldn't call it a flaw I did notice that winff creates a
~/.winff/presets.xml on first run. That file doesn't get updated when a
user updates. So any fixes & or improvements to the presets never gets
to the user unless they delete ~/.winff/presets.xml. Then a new one is
copied from the ins
I've no idea how to debug but if I remove ibus then all is ok again

Then adding back ibus & unity-control-center & it returns so I'd place

I could if useful build u-c-c without the dep on ibus & see if u-c-c is

The actual problem with the grilo plugin for youtube was in totem-pl-
parser. This has been fixed in totem-pl-parser (3.10.3-1) but
considering totem in 14.04 doesn't have grilo enabled then a bit of a
moot point.
