Just in case, I personally address the issue by reversing the direction
at the low level:
synclient | grep ScrollDelta
Session and Startup > Application Autostart > Add
synclient VertScrollDelta=- HorizScrollDelta=-
May cause other problems if you have advanced needs, e.g. w/ a graphics

Not since I upgraded, that's for sure, as I would not have been able to find it
with this new environment and I did not know the ccsm command: I just tried it
and discovered it was Compiz. Plus, I would not expect Compiz to work any more:

The unity launcher does not show up at all any more. Exactly like the Start
button's bar in Windows when Explorer crashes.
The icon at the top right is missing in my account, which is annoying. It is
not the case when I log under another account on the same computer.
